BPR to become Ina Dittke Associates
BPR Music is changing! Over the coming months we will be changing the design of our site to reflect the new company name Ina Dittke Assiociates.
Ina Dittke announced the formation of Ina Dittke & Associates.
Ina has been a director of BPR music since 1987 when she joined Brian Theobald, Pete King and Ronnie Scott, all three now sadly deceased. The company became famous for big-band tours with stars such as Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente and many others. She branched out into world music with Miriam Makeba and Still Black, Still Proud — an African tribute to James Brown starring Peewee Ellis.
Her decision to rename as Ina Dittke & Associates reflects her international credentials and ambitions. “Having offices in Miami and in Brighton, England is a great advantage” Ina said, “with the addition of Associates in Spain, Italy, Germany and the USA we are able to construct tours which deliver economies of scale for the benefit of both the musicians and the venues”
Ina, with her colleague Jody Yebga, continues to look after the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni with the Heath Brothers, Cyrus Chestnut, the phenomenal pianist and The Cookers, probably the best hard bop group in jazz today!
Also The Big 3 Palladium Orchestra performing the music of Tito Puente, Machito and Tito Rodriguez, Osibisa, the legendary Afro Pop band, R&B icon Georgie Fame, the London Community Gospel Choir and some special projects to be announced providing diversity to the roster.
For 2012/13 season a big push will be made for THE DIZZY GILLESPIE SYMPHONY SESSIONS. Performed by the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni together with local symphony orchestras this wonderful programme of Dizzy classics such as Night in Tunisia, Tin Tin Deo and Manteca provides a unique opportunity for both classical and jazz presenters alike to target large audiences.
Ina added “With the passing of James Moody in December 2010, the wonderful artist I had the honour to manage for 27 years, I thought it is time to move on and re-structure….”
